Landra Reid, the wife of Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., has been diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer, the senator’s office said Friday.
Landra Reid, 71, is receiving treatment in Washington D.C., which includes chemotherapy. She was diagnosed “recently,” Reid spokesman Zac Petkanas said.

Very sad to hear.
Early detection is always the key. Breast cancer treatments have really developed over the last decade. Although the article doesn’t mention it, surgery is much less invasive overall, back from the days of radical surgery, removing all the tissue, including the muscles under a woman’s arm.
I didn’t know they were married so long and childhood sweethearts. Prayers to the family.
